The crankshaft with its 4-ball bearing provides smooth running characteristics. With a suitable 3W-muffler system the engine features outstanding running characteristics in terms of noise reduction and engine smoothness.
As a standard feature this engine is equipped with a rear output shaft. To reduce its run-out a 4th ball bearing is added.

The crankcase dimensions of the new 3W-34 engine’s design are identical to those of the 3W-28i engines. This offers an increase of power and features a larger cylinder flange area with a bore diameter of 38 mm. The sizes of the banana-shaped muffler and the crankcase also remain identical to those of the 3W-28i. This makes it easy to replace 3W-28i with 3W-34xi TS where necessary.
Further safety and reliability features have been added to the 3W-34xi TS. A double hall sensor and two single cylinder ignitions have been installed. These redundant systems will deploy if an ignition or a hall sensor breaks down. In such a case the engine will lose no more than 100-150RPM.

The 3W-342i with a cylinder capacity of 20.68 cu in is equipped with a stronger crankshaft. The rear output shaft is a standard feature and allows for mounting: alternators, electric starters and starter/alternator units.
The manually operated compression release valves are a standard feature and allow for an easy starting of the engine. The ½" square end of the propeller disc supports the use of an external electric starter.
