On account of the microprocessor-controlled ignition the engine can be quickly and easily started. The programmed timing curve is laid out for the engines and guarantees good running characteristics over the RPM-range. An output signal is recorded to monitor RPM.

The crankcase dimensions of the new 3W-34 engine’s design are identical to those of the 3W-28i engines. This offers an increase of power and features a larger cylinder flange area with a bore diameter of 38 mm. The sizes of the banana-shaped muffler and the crankcase also remain identical to those of the 3W-28i. This makes it easy to replace 3W-28i with 3W-34xi TS where necessary.
Further safety and reliability features have been added to the 3W-34xi TS. A double hall sensor and two single cylinder ignitions have been installed. These redundant systems will deploy if an ignition or a hall sensor breaks down. In such a case the engine will lose no more than 100-150RPM.
